Went out and about Central Market; had fun photographing the bits and pieces that we walked around.

More classwork - Filter Fun

So today's classwork looks like this:

The background is way more cluttered than I like (makes things kinda hard to see), but I'll keep it noted for next time I guess.
I like the colors though.

Color research post

So today's research post being on color- some of my faves has to be:

images from Tumblr

Turquoise/teal is really pretty damn awesome.
More complex than your usual blue/green and usually has some pretty nifty depth to it (and since blue = calming, green = calming, teal/turquoise = ultra calming? i dunno)
Since it's more a blue-green mix rather than a straightup blue it can lean more warm or cool (green having a yellow component in it- which is a warm color generally) which makes it really nice against both gold and silver (both color and jewelry-wise)
It also looks amazing in hair.
Though then again a lot of colors look amazing in hair; like-

Lavender/lilac...

Pale purple's not bad either.
Well, purple's not bad in general.
I think I have a fondness for more complex, secondary colors, they have a lot of tonal variation.

Nope. Turquoise still wins :D
(in all seriousness, it's a gorgeous color and is apparently Pantone's color of the year for 2010, and Tiffany & Co.'s trademark Tiffany blue looks like this-)

(they call it robin's egg blue, it's not a straight blue though)
It's refreshing and easy on the eyes.

Maybe I should repaint my room sometime....
